About cupping

An ancient therapy, a modern studio

Cupping is one of the world's oldest therapies, practised for centuries across Egypt, China, and the Middle East. Controlled suction lifts the skin and underlying tissue, boosting circulation, easing muscle tension, and helping the body clear stagnation.

At Proud Mumin, that tradition meets clinical standards: trained and certified practitioners, single-use sterile equipment, full hygiene protocols, and a private consultation before every treatment.

Clients visit us for chronic pain, migraines, fatigue, sports recovery, and general wellbeing — or simply to unwind and reset.

The process

What to expect at your session

Consultation

We review your health history, current concerns, and intentions for the session, then agree the treatment plan and cupping points together.

Preparation

The treatment area is cleansed and sterilised. All cups, blades, and gloves are sealed, single-use items opened in front of you.

Treatment

Cups are applied with controlled suction, followed by light superficial incisions and reapplication. Most sessions take 30–45 minutes.

Aftercare

Areas are cleaned and dressed, and you leave with clear aftercare guidance — hydration, rest, and what to expect over the next few days.

Testimonials

Years of shoulder tension eased after two sessions. Professional, clean, and they explained every step before doing it.

Yusuf A.

I came in sceptical and left a regular. The whole process was calm, hygienic, and dignified from start to finish.

Daniel M.

The women's clinic is brilliant — a female practitioner, complete privacy, and my migraines have noticeably reduced.

FAQ

Common questions

Does cupping hurt?

Most clients describe the suction as a firm pulling sensation and the incisions as light scratches. Discomfort is minimal and short-lived, and your practitioner adjusts pressure to your comfort throughout.

How should I prepare for a session?

Come lightly fasted (2–3 hours without food), well hydrated, and in loose clothing. Avoid heavy exercise immediately before and after your appointment.

How often should I get cupping?

For general wellbeing, most clients book every four to six weeks. For specific complaints like chronic pain or sports recovery, your practitioner will recommend a schedule at your consultation.

Is everything sterile?

Yes. Cups, blades, and gloves are sealed single-use items disposed of after every client, and treatment rooms are sanitised between appointments in line with clinical hygiene standards.

Can women be treated?

Absolutely. Our women's clinic runs on dedicated days with a certified female practitioner and fully private treatment rooms.
